The daughter of architects, Marianne Mitchell grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her parents Ehrman B. Mitchell and Hermine S. Mitchell designed and built the house where she spent her childhood, and now resides in with her husband and daughter along with their cats. The structure of the house, open floor plan, and glass facades which frame the outdoor landscape, have been influential in shaping Marianne’s artistic vision of creating a sense of place through the balance of architectural and organic form.
